How To Reduce Water Weight

Water weight account for a large portion of your total weight. It can also make you feel bloated, or make your wrists, hands, feet and ankles swell. The main cause of water retention is oddly enough a lack of water. If your body feels deprived of water it will retain any water to counteract this loss.

Drink more than the recommended 8 glasses of water a day. Depending on your body weight and height, or your the amount of exercise you do in a day (even walking) your body requires more than 8 glasses.

Try to always carry a bottle of water with you wherever you go, be it in the car, at the office, at home. You will be more inclined to drink.

Reduce your sodium intake. One of the main functions of the water stored in your body is to clear any excess sodium that has built up. As a result a lower sodium diet will result in less water retention. The best way to cut sodium in your diet is to cut down on sodas (do not be fooled by diet soda, because these contain just as much sodium)

A few drops of lemon juice will also help in flushing out any excess water being stored in your body. Citrus fruits are known to be natural diuretics.
